This stuff is gold for real! It is a sticky constancy like honey which at first I was wary of. I cannot stand sticky or oily hair! But when I put it on my wet hair it was fantastic after it dried. My hair was so soft and so moisturized. I use a leave-in conditioner or a moisturizer under this product, really anything will do. This product will seal in any moisture it ends up on top of. It is not a moisturizer however because it does not contain water. You only need a little. I use it every day and one jar lasts me 5 months and I am very heavy handed. This stuff is all natural so this is awesome! It has a light lemony scent like all of her products.

I would not use it on my dry hair because products act better for me when my hair is wet. But I have heard that other ladies like it on dry hair as well.

Qhemet Biologics is a great brand. The owner responds lightening fast to emails and is very personable. However, due to these products being handmade, there may be up to a two week wait time for your products to be shipped. Also, sometimes the online store is closed due to sale preparations and to restock supplies.

These products have gone through intensive testing and have only the finest ingredients. QB is also available in some retail locations in a few metropolitan cites. I know that Senab in DC carries Qhemet Biologics.

I don't know about this one yall. When I opened it up it looked like some oil floating on top of some cottage cheese. It felt like spongy cottage cheese. It is slimy as well. It smells like dirty vegetables, I think the smell is supposed to be cucumber? I'm sorry but like with food you "eat" with your eyes first. And I guess in this case you "eat" your nose and your touch first as well. This is a SheaAloe mixture, but I could not imagine putting this mess in my hair, let alone touching with a 7 and 1/2 foot pole.

On the site it says not to use it on wet hair because it may leave your hair crispy. Well I only can put stuff on my hair when it is damp or wet, otherwise my hair will not absorb it. I gave it to my cousin for her to use it as a moisturizer/lotion. She is a lotion freak and she won't even put it on her skin. She put it on her hair and it left a oily mess.

Luckily I got this stuff for free. Otherwise I would be mad.

Review

These conditioners are great value cowash conditioners for people looking for more natural products. These conditioners do not have cones or parabans and that is always good! The ingredients are excellent and more beneficial ingredients are high on the ingredient list, thus in higher concentrations. I do not cowash anymore, but when I was this stuff was fantastic. I would not use it as a deep conditioner though, it is not thick enough. I bought all three to be able to switch it up when I needed protein or moisture, depending on the ingredients.

The Verdict

I give it 4/5 stars. It is cheap (if you go to Marshalls), has great ingredients and is readily available. It is not 100% natural however due to some of the preservatives, and is not favorable for a deep conditioner.

Hairveda Vatika Frosting

Its basically glorified Coconut Oil. I wouldn't give it the time of day if it didn't smell so freakin good. It smells like the tastiest, creamiest buttercream cake you have ever smelled. Vatika Frosting is what motivates me to DC in all honesty. I DC just so I can smell it in my hair.....oh man....I would DC every day for that smell.....

My hair likes coconut oil so this stuff is good for me. You can use it as a prepoo, a sealant etc. It is kinda expensive if you consider that a 54 ounce container of coconut oil from vitacost.com is like $30. But I make sure to order mine during the sales; usually it will be half price. I just stock up and buy 10 at a time during sales.

Hairveda is right down the street from me. It would be great if they had a storefront location. Customer service has rebounded since the introduction of a new sales associate. If you want your stuff fast though do not order during a sale. It might take up to a month for you to receive your products due to the popularity of Hairveda.

Oyin Handmade Burnt Sugar Pomade

Review

On wet hair I use it slick my edges down and the front on my hair down. This product so far is the only pomade that has been able to tame my frizzies in the front. The smell is intoxicating, like pancakes with sugar. It only takes a smidgen of product and one jar will last you for a long time. It is very thick so it might be wise to warm it up a little by rubbing your palms together with the product in between them. I really like thick products and this one is great!

The Oyin Handmade store is 35 minutes away from me, so it is very convenient to be able to go to the store to avoid shipping costs and wait times. However, I have heard that their wait times for shipping products can be 2-3 weeks. If I didn't live near the Oyin store, perhaps this might be a problem for me. You can always order from Curlmart.com, but the product will not be as fresh as getting it straight from Oyin. I know that handmade products may take a while to ship, due to everything being made fresh. But I have seen other reviews where Oyin's customer service seems questionable in regards to communication issues.

The Verdict

I give it 5/5 stars for my hair. It slicks back my hair like no other, smells great, and I can pick it up from their store on Saturdays from 12-7.

Kinky Curly Knot Today

I bought this product to use in conjunction with Kinky Curly Curling Custard. I did allot of research and learned that KCKT is essential to lay the groundwork for the KCCC. For that purpose I feel like this product does a good job. It is very liquidly and thin in constancy and it has a light fragrance. It is a pretty good detangler for being so thin and this product was a blessing when I had shorter hair. However, I have realized that as my hair had gotten longer and thicker it needs a cream based detangler.

In all actuality I think that any lightweight leave-in would be good to use as a foundation for KCCC, so this product may be substitutable.

On its own without using it with KCCC it really didn't do anything for me. I felt like my hair was not moisturized with this product by itself. I had to add other products on top of it to make my hair feel soft.


The Verdict

I give it 3/5 stars for my hair. I think that by itself KCKT can not stand on its own. I think though if you are using it for KCCC then this product is pretty good. You can probably find a cheaper alternative though, $12 for 8 oz is not cheap!

Karens Body Beautiful Hair Milk

Review

I made sure I got the unscented version so I wouldn't be biased because of the scent. I wanted to see how the Hair Milk performed rather how it smelled. I used it as a leave in at night, and woke up to matted dry hair. I usually use QB AOHC as a leave in at night and have never had a problem.

Then I used it during the day as a leave-in a couple days later. It was a humid day. The reason why I mention the humidity is because the Hair Milk has glycerin which is a humectant. Humectants absorbs moisture from the air, so when the humidity is high enough your hair will be moisturized. However, if the humidity is low, it will draw the moisture from your hair making it dry.

Even on a hot humid day it dried my hair out. I think it is because of the vegetable wax, which seems to be a key component of this product.

Now my FH uses it, he has 2b hair. He likes it.

The Verdict

I give it 1/5 stars for my hair. I will not be repurchasing and my FH will be using up the remaining bottle. For his hair I give it a 4/5.
