Hey You Guys!

I just wanted to give a little update about what is happening in my Hair Life! I am sorry that I have not be ontop of this blog. I have been busy with my job and gearing up for David to go to Spain for a year. I am happy to report that I am SL! I am very excited, my hair is 9-12 inches depending on where on my head! I feel that I owe my progress to low manipulation and proper moisture levels.

I did two-strand twists from October until January. I wanted to make sure that I had enough hair to comfortably bun with before making that plunge. I did not want to be pulling my scalp into my bun! :) So yes now I am wet bunning.

I just bought a comb attachment for my Sedu Revolution 4000i blow dryer. I sucked at using a paddle brush and the blow dryer, my coordination is not too good lol.

It's called the Willie Morrow Blow Dry Nozzle Thermal Solano
It is supposed to fit any dryer. We will see, David is gonna attach it to my dryer this week. I got it off of Ebay for $18 bucks with shipping. Folica has it too, but shipping made it $23 so I went with the cheaper option.

I would like to blow dry my hair sometime in the Fall. I am trying to get to APL by the end of this year. I am 3 inches away. It will be the longest my hair has been since I was like 12 haha. Anyway I am updating this thing at work, my internet at home is down. I hope to use this as a supplement to my Youtube channel.

Afroveda Ashlii Amala Deep Conditioner and Herbal Cleansing Rinse.

Cost:
Herbal Cleansing Rinse 4oz, $12
Ashlii Amala Deep Conditioner 8oz, $21.95

Review

The verdicts
I will not be repurchasing the Cleansing Rinse because I can make my own for less. But this is still a good product for non ingredient mixtresses. 3/5 stars.

I will be repurchasing the Deep Conditioner. Sometimes you do get what you pay for and this is an example of that. But I will only buy it when there is a sale :). 5/5 stars.

She Scent it Banana Brulee Conditioner

Ingredients

Water (infused with Aloe, essential extracts of Cinnamon, Black willow bark, Roman Chamomile, Rose hip seed) Cetyl alcohol, Bananas, Emulsifying wax, Castor oil, Vegetable glycerin, Coconut oil, Avocado oil, Honey, Hydrolyzed cotton seed protein, Cocoa Butter, Sweet almond oil, Babassu oil, Silk amino acids, Panthenol, Silica, Germall plus.

Cost: 8 oz $11, 16 oz $17

Review

I really like this conditioner. It is very thick and pretty moisturizing. I also like how it comes in a tub so that you can get every little bit out. I do not like to waste product. Her ingredients are awesome, natural and pretty affordable.

You can now choose 4 different scents. I like the Coco Mango scent, but I wasn't feeling the Banana scent, it smells too fake to me.

Shescentit is very fast with shipping and responding to emails. When I stock up on her conditioners my order usually the ship out between 1-2 days. She runs sales almost every holiday, usually 20-25 percent off so this is a plus. She has many different conditioners at different prices so they can fit anyone's budget.

The verdict

4/5 stars. I really like this conditioner and its price. But I think that some of my other conditioners are a little bit better, like my AOHSR. I will always keep this stuff in my arsenal though. Make sure you wait for a sale which usually is every holiday, the next one is labor day :).

Qhemet Biologics Amla Oil Norishing Pomade

Ingredients

Vegetable thickener, ayurvedic amla, coconut oil, essential oil blend

Cost: 4oz $16

Review

This product is to be used like traditional hair grease. You can slick down your edges or grease your scalp. Also this can be used to thicken the hairline or to reverse hair loss due to the Ayurveda ingredients. I think that amla being so high on the ingredient is a plus. Most products that have amla in the product name usually have it farther down the ingredient list. However, since there are so few ingredients in the Amla Pomade, this may be deceiving.

The AONP was not heavy enough to slick down my edges. It has a nice lemony scent and a greasy consistency. It is kinda expensive, but only a little is needed for the scalp and hairline. I really did not know what to do with it, other then using it to grease my scalp or to seal my hair. But this Pomade is way too expensive to be sealing my hair with it, I have allot of hair.

The verdict

This stuff was alright. It did not blow me out of the water, but was not bad. Kinda expensive for 4 ounces but I have seen worse. 3/5 stars.

Steamer

Cost: $129 with free shipping from salonrus.com

Review

And to think I was spending so much money to find a staple deep conditioner, but in all actuality the steamer was the key to unlocking my conditioners' full potential! I still like to try new conditioners once in a while, but the steamer makes every product is use with it 10x better. Essentially the steamer will supercharge your conditioners. Products are better absorbed into my strands which leaves them much more manageable. Also it makes my hair much easier to detangle.

It is a good investment! I actually can use less conditioner when doing my DC's. I DC three times a week for about 30-60 minutes under my steamer and my hair has never felt so moisturized.

Salonrus.com is very timely with shipping. The day I ordered it they shipped it out. That is great customer service. The instructions are a little weird to put the steamer together. The picture of what it looks like helps allot though.

The verdict

This thing is a miracle. It is worth every dime, 5/5 stars.
